Abstract
The Pade-Z(2) stochastic estimator is used to calculate the fermion ma trix determinants and the determinant ratios with an unbiased variatio nal scheme. The results on an 8(3) x 12 lattice with Wilson action sho w that the determinant ratio with a relatively small number of Z(2) no ises (e.g., 400) can be estimated by using the unbiased subtractions.
