Abstract
The magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) data of the fluorescence spectra , including the resonant inelastic X-ray scattering (RIXS) associated with the Gd L-beta 2,L-15 fluorescence line of the ferrimagnetic Gd-Co compound, are presented. The dependence of the MCD spectra of the RIX S on the incident X-ray energy shows an almost two-fold enhancement of the magnetic effects when it approaches the exact Gd L-III absorption edge. The MCD spectra of the La, Sm and Gd L-beta 2,L-15 fluorescence lines of La2Co14B, Sm2Co14B and Gd2Co14B are also reported. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
