Abstract
Fluorescence spectra of a Co67Gd33 amorphous thin film were measured f or the Gd L-alpha 1,L-2 lines using circularly polarized X-rays of ene rgies tuned at 134, 154, and 174 eV above the Gd L-3-edge (7244 eV). M ultielectron excitation (MEE) effects and their magnetic circular dich roism (MCD) for the Gd L alpha(1,2) lines were investigated. The MEE e ffect for Gd L alpha(1) appeared as superimposed over the original flu orescence line, and the peak shift due to a two core hole state could not be detected. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V.
