A case study of naturally occurring canine pseudorabies is presented t
o document the cardiac lesions and electrocardiographic changes produc
ed by the pseudorabies virus. In addition to the typical nervous signs
physical examination revealed pulmonary lung edema and a severe tachy
arrhythmia. Electrocardiographic examination demonstrated ventricular
bigeminy, and irregular runs of ventricular premature complexes. Elect
rocardiographic findings correlated well with myocardial lesions, dete
cted during necropsy.
