Abstract
The title complex [Sr-2(OSiPh3)(4)(NH3)(5)]. 0.5C(7)H(8) was prepared by the reaction of strontium metal granules with triphenylsilanol in a n ammoniacal-toluene solution at -40 degrees C. It crystallizes in mon oclinic space group P2(1)/n with a = 14.465(3), b = 20.715 (6), c = 25 .199(6) Angstrom, beta = 95.98(2)degrees, and Z = 4. The complex has a dimeric structure with one terminal and three bridging triphenylsilox y ligands, the remaining coordination sites being occupied by five amm onia molecules. The central Sr2O4N5 moiety adopts a distorted M2X9 fac e-sharing bioctahedral arrangement.
