Mv. Knatko et al., FORMATION AND THERMAL-DECOMPOSITION OF NAAU ALLOY - SURFACE-IONIZATION STUDIES, PHYSICS OF LOW-DIMENSIONAL STRUCTURES, 5-6, 1998, pp. 85-91
Interaction of Na with metallic gold in the temperature interval 1100
divided by 1250K is studied. It is based on measuring of the time depe
ndence of ions desorption from the surface. Formation of NaAu overlaye
rs on gold as well as thermal decomposition of the alloy coating are i
nvestigated. It is stated that the reactional diffusion of Na determin
es modification of the near-surface region of substrate. Dynamics of t
he diffusion process is discussed.
