J. Drozdz, A RECORD OF SPICULOPTERAGIA-SUPPERERI (NEMATODA, TRICHOSTRONGYLIDAE) IN FARMED ELAPHURUS-DAVIDIANUS (CERVIDAE) IN POLAND, Acta Parasitologica, 43(2), 1998, pp. 109-110
A post mortem examination on a Pere David's deer reared on a deer farm
in Kosewo (Mazurian Lakeland) revealed the presence of 215 specimens
of Spiculopteragia suppereri in the abomasum. In spite of the fact tha
t the world population of this particular deer species dwindled at one
point in the last century to just a few individuals in China, a nemat
ode species typical to it remained in existence.
