Abstract
The excitation functions for production of nineteen isotopes of At, Po , Bi, Pb, and Tl in the interaction of C-12 with Au-197 between 57 and 97 MeV incident energy have been measured with the activation techniq ue. The analysis of these data allows one to estimate the cross sectio ns for complete fusion of C-12 and incomplete fusion of Be-8 and alpha fragments with gold, and shows the presence of preequilibrium emissio ns at incident energies only slightly higher than the Coulomb barrier acting between C-12 and Au-197.
