Ja. Adeff et al., MEASUREMENTS WITH RETICULATED VITREOUS CARBON STACKS IN THERMOACOUSTIC PRIME MOVERS AND REFRIGERATORS, The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 104(1), 1998, pp. 32-38
Reticulated vitreous carbon has been successfully used as a stack mate
rial in thermoacoustic prime movers and refrigerators. It is a rigid g
lassy carbon material, with a porous spongelike structure. Test result
s indicate peak pressure amplitudes of up to 32% in a prime mover, and
refrigeration performance comparable to that of a traditional plastic
roll stack. (C) 1998 Acoustical Society of America. [S0001-4966(98)05
