Several segmented polyurethanes tetrahydrofuranethylene oxide copolyet
her (PTE) based on isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) and 1,4-butanediol (
BDO) were prepared. The structure and properties of these products wer
e characterized with tensile testing, differential scanning carlorimet
ry (DSC), Xray diffraction (XRD),C-13 NMR space and melt flow Index te
chniques. All elastomers had satisfactory mechanical properties and th
ermal properties. XRD results indicated that all elastomers were compl
ete amorphous. The influence of low content (10%) of dibutyl phathalat
e (DBP) on the properties of these polyurethanes was also studied. (C)
