Abstract
A modified error diffusion algorithm that results in a homogenous puls e disiribution in the highlight and shadow areas oi the binarized imag es is described. The distinction io standard error diffusion algorithm s is a dynamic threshold imprint function that depends on the local in put values and binary output pixel. The imprint function is generated by diffusing a one-dimensional function in the orthogonal direction, t hereby allowing a last implementation of a two-dimensional threshold i mprint.
