R. Lacasse et al., A TIME-OF-FLIGHT HODOSCOPE FOR THE E877 SPECTROMETER, Nuclear instruments & methods in physics research. Section A, Accelerators, spectrometers, detectors and associated equipment, 408(2-3), 1998, pp. 408-424
The design and performance of the main time-of-flight hodoscope used i
n the E877 spectrometer at the BNL-AGS are presented. The hodoscope co
vers an area of 0.70 x 2.00 m(2). It is made of 150 scintillator count
ers viewed by phototubes at each end. The detectors are mounted in an
are and arranged to eliminate gaps between the counters. An average ti
me resolution of 85 ps has been measured over the entire hodoscope. (C
