Abstract
Feruloyl esters of omega-hydroxyacids were found in the alcoholysis pr oducts of suberin from Quercus suber cork. Their identification was ma de from mass spectra and by comparison with synthetic model compounds. The omega-hydroxyls of suberinic hydroxyacids are thought to be the e ster-bonding points between suberin aliphatics and associated aromatic s.
