COMBINED WIND AND ICE LOADS FROM HISTORICAL EXTREME WIND AND ICE DATA

There are several approaches in the design codes to calculate wind-on- ice loads from meteorological data. One of these approaches utilizes v arious combinations of available extreme wind and ice data to calculat e wind-on-ice loads. In this paper, a comprehensive procedure is propo sed to determine the appropriate combination of annual extreme wind an d ice values for calculating wind-on-ice loads on transmission line co nductors.
