ULTRASONIC PERIVASCULAR FLOW PROBE - TECHNIQUE AND APPLICATION IN NEUROSURGERY

Documentation and measurement of intraoperative cerebral blood flow du ring various neurosurgical procedures is not only valuable but also ve ry informative. There are various methods by which qualitative and qua ntitative measurement of cerebral blood flow have been developed over the years. The use of perivascular ultrasonic flow more recently is fa st gaining popularity. We describe the technique, principle and applic ation of ultrasonic perivascular micro-flow probe for quantitative mea surement of selective vessel flow in neurosurgery.
