Abstract
A model of the evolution of recrystallization textures for b.c.c. meta ls was suggested based on the ODF and EBSD analysis of the texture cha nge during annealing of cold rolled steel. The model is composed of tw o principles: first, the maximum principal stress direction in the def ormed grain becomes the minimum Young's modulus direction in the recry stallized grain; second, a {110} plane, parallel to the maximum princi pal stress direction (hence, minimum Young's modulus direction), is ta ken for variant selection. The current model is successfully applied t o describe the evolution of recrystallization textures in various b.c. c. transition metals such as tantalum, molybdenum and tungsten.
