Abstract
We have performed reflection measurements on corrugated YBa2Cu3O7 samp les which exhibit below-gap surface plasmons and Sommerfeld-Zenneck wa ves for temperatures below and above the critical temperature, respect ively. We calculated the optical response of corrugated surfaces and i n particular the coupling to surface plasmon polaritons and Sommerfeld -Zenneck waves. These calculations are in good agreement with our meas urements. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
