Corrosion resistance investigations of nanocrystalline Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si1
3.5B9 alloy compared to its amorphous counterpart were carried out. Lo
w-temperature crystallization based on the;annealing of amorphous tape
s was used to obtain a nanocrystalline structure. The influence of hea
t treatment on the alloy structure, mechanical properties and corrosio
n resistance in H(2)So(4) and HCl solutions was investigated. Based on
the parameters taken on as a criterion of corrosion resistance, it wa
s found that nanocrystalline tapes have a higher corrosion resistance
than their amorphous counterpart. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All r
