S. Sarraute et al., FABRICATION PROCESS FOR BARIUM TITANATE-FERRITE FUNCTIONALLY GRADED CERAMICS, Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 18(7), 1998, pp. 759-764
The purpose of this work is to develop a fabrication process to produc
e barium titanate-ferrite functionally graded multilayer ceramics by d
ry pressing. Two materials were used; a dielectric powder based on BaT
iO3 and a magnetic Ni-Zn ferrite which were co-sintered. Two types of
cracks were observed after sintering. A Scanning Electron Microscopy (
SEM) examination of the sintered samples was performed in order to det
ermine whether the cracks appear during the forming method or are due
to thermal mismatching between the two materials. A crack free non sym
metric configuration multilayer was obtained by sequentially stacking,
pressing and sintering. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Limited. All rights
