T. Stahlschmidt et al., A NEW FILTERBAND MATERIAL FOR THE SEQUENT IAL SAMPLING OF AMBIENT AEROSOLS WITH SUBSEQUENT TRACE-ELEMENT ANALYSIS, Gefahrstoffe, Reinhaltung der Luft, 58(5), 1998, pp. 199-204
A quartz fiber filtermaterial in the form of a filterband was develope
d for trace element analysis in ambient aerosols. Previous available f
ilterbands mode of glass fibers are suitable for automatic dust sample
rs with regard to their mechanical properties but contain too high bla
nk concentrations to analyze short time collected samples for their tr
ace element content. With the use of the new developed filtermaterial
in automated dust samplers it is possible, to monitor the situation of
immission continuously. The filter was also intended to be used in ma
rine regions where low trace element concentrations ore present. Lower
ing the blank values of the filterband allows its use in emission cont
rol for those elements mentioned in recent clean air regulation acts (
TALuft and 17, BImSchV) [1].
