Abstract
Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) has an increasing impact on dia gnostic tools in anaesthesia and intensive care medicine. However, pra ctice of TEE is based on the knowledge of basic echocardiographic prin ciples and their limitations. The present overview aims to provide bas ics and indications of TEE in anaesthesia and intensive care.
