Abstract
Germylcopper compounds Ph3GeCu(PPh3)(3) (1) and (C6F5)(3)GeCu(PPh3)(2) (2) were synthesized by reaction of organogermanium hydrides R3GeH (R =Ph, C6F5) with t-BuOCu in the presence of PPh3. The crystal structure of 2 and its analogous {(C6F5)(3)GeCu(PPh3)(2)} (THF)(2) (3) with two additional solvate THF molecules have been determined by X-ray diffra ction method. In both 2 and 3 crystals the Cu atom is bonded to the Ge atom of (C6F5)(3)Ge group and the two P atoms of PPh3 ligands and hav e a slightly distorted planar-trigonal environments. The Cu-Ge distanc es are 2.370(2), 2.382(2) Angstrom in 2 (for two independent molecules ) and 2.348(1) Angstrom in 3. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All right s reserved.
