New titanium (IV) complexes containing diphenyloxo- or diphenylthiopho
sphorylcyclopentadienyl ligands are obtained by reaction of diphenylph
osphinocyclopentadienyl derivatives with the appropriate oxidizer (S-8
or H2O2). The crystal structures of [(eta(5)-C5H4P(S)Ph-2)(eta(5)-C5H
4SiMe3)TiCl2] 3 and [(eta(5)-C5H4P(S)Ph-2)(2)Ti(SPh)(2)]. C4H10O 7 ind
icate in both cases, a pseudo-tetrahedral arrangement around the titan
ium atom. The two SPh ligands in compound 7 are orientated in opposite
sites of the TiS2 plane, which suggests an anti conformation for this
molecule. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
