Abstract
A mathematical model has been developed to assist in the decision maki ng for load shedding in a: power system. The model presented in this p aper would help the system planner and operator to work out the load s hedding operation efficiently. The model ensures supply of maximum dem and as the system loss is minimised for a given generation within the frame-work of load shedding constraints and line flow limits.
