Abstract
A superdeformed (SD) quasicontinuum in Ce-132 is experimentally charac terized from rotational ridges in gamma-gamma correlation matrices. Ev idence for a partial feeding of the SD yrast rotational band through h ighly deformed states is given. The evolution of the rotational transi tion strength as a function of the angular frequency is shown. A weak rotational damping is inferred.
