Very near stoichiometric compound of Li1-xNi1+xO2 (x approximate to 0.
01) was synthesized by a new process at a reaction temperature of 650
degrees C. The DC and AC magnetic susceptibility of the sample was mea
sured using a SQUID magnetometer, and a typical spin glass-like behavi
or was observed. The zero field cooled susceptibility showed a cusp-li
ke peak at 8 K, On the other hand, the field cooled susceptibility sho
wed little temperature dependence below 8 K. The AC susceptibility has
a maximum around 8-9 K, of which the temperature varied with the freq
