Here we present the results for the influence of etching of the surfac
es of the amorphous Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si15.5B7 ribbon on its magnetic proper
ties in amorphous state and states obtained by successive annealing fo
r one hour at several temperatures T-a less than or equal to 450 degre
es C. We discuss the changes in the domain structure, anisotropy and d
omain wall (DW) pinning in terms of the corresponding changes in the a
verage angle <delta> between the domain magnetizations and ribbon axis
, coercive field H-c, remanent magnetization M-r and maximum permeabil
ity mu(max). The measurements show rather weak effects of etching on t
he magnetization processes and DW pinning in the amorphous state (smal
l initial decrease of H-c). Results for the successively annealed samp
le show that etching does not improve properties of the nanocrystalliz
ed FeCuNbSiB ribbons.
