Kyoto Protocol implications for CO2, temperature and sea level are exa
mined. Three scenarios for post-Kyoto emissions reductions are conside
red. In all cases, the longterm consequences are small. The limitation
s specified under the Protocol are interpreted in terms of both CO2 an
d CH4 emissions reductions and a new emissions comparison index, the F
orcing Equivalence Index (FEI), is introduced. The use of GWPs to asse
ss CO2-equivalence is assessed.
