Abstract
Adventitious root cultures of Anthemis nobilis were established from r oots of in vitro plantlets. GCMS analysis of the n-hexane extract of t he root cultures revealed that they accumulated geranyl isovalerate, a compound which is generally not detectable in parental plants, and ne gligible amounts of other constituents. Geranyl isovalerate was also d etected in the aerial parts of in vitro plantlets but not in shoot cul tures having no roots. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reser ved.
