Abstract
Mixed chalcogen rings (Se/S)(6) and (Se/Te)(6) are obtained in CuBrSe2 .36S0.64, CuISe2.6S0.4, and CuISe1.93Te1.07. These compounds can be pr epared by reaction of mixtures of CuBr/CuI, Se, and S/Te in the corres ponding stoichiometric amounts. They crystallise in a structural type isotypic with CuISe3, space group R (3) over bar m (No.166), Z = 18, a = 13.729(1) Angstrom, c = 13.781(1) Angstrom, V = 2249.3(2) Angstrom( 3) (CuBrSe2.36S0.64), a = 13.967(1) Angstrom, V = 14.166(1) Angstrom,V = 2393.1(1) Angstrom(3) (CuISe2.6S0.4), and a = 14.549(3) Angstrom, c = 14.383(4) Angstrom, V = 2636.6(9) Angstrom(3) (CuISe1.93Te1.07). In CuISe3 up to 50% of selenium can be substituted by tellurium.
