Aa. Strokov et Yf. Bogdanov, REARRANGEMENT OF CHROMATIN STRUCTURE DURING SYNCHRONIZED MEIOSIS IN LILIUM-CANDIDUM L, Molecular biology, 32(3), 1998, pp. 447-453
We studied quantitative changes in chromatin structure in synchronized
dividing meiotic cells (microsporocytes) during prophase I of meiosis
in lily. The meiotic and somatic cells differed by electrophoretic mo
bility of subnucleosomes after chromatin hydrolysis with staphylococca
l nuclease and by the pattern of subnucleosomes at different stages of
prophase I. Length of the DNA fragments and histone pattern were also
different. The most pronounced differences in chromatin structure bet
ween different cell types were revealed by protein electrophoresis of
nuclease-resistant chromatin.
