Abstract
We have performed neutron inelastic scattering measurements far the he avy fermion superconductor UPd2Al3. From comparison of the results wit h calculation, we suggest that the spin fluctuation determines the sup erconducting transition temperature T-c, and that the strong coupling between the heavy electrons and spin waves may lead to the observation of two low-energy responses. We also suggest, within the model invest igated, that the spin wave excitation energy may be reduced below T-c. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A.
