Abstract
The uranium ternary intermetallic compound URhAl was investigated by m eans of magneto-optical Kerr effect. Comparative studies of UTX comple xes support the conclusion that the magneto-optical spectrum originate s mostly from uranium electronic states, the contribution of other met al states being less important. The most prominent peak revealed in th e infrared region of the magneto-optical spectra was attributed to the transitions from the ground 5f states to higher d states of uranium.
