S. Rosler et al., SENSOR SYSTEM FOR THE DETECTION OF ORGANIC POLLUTANTS IN WATER BY THICKNESS-SHEAR MODE RESONATORS, Sensors and actuators. B, Chemical, 48(1-3), 1998, pp. 415-424
In this study, a sensor system is presented for the detection of organ
ic pollutants in drinking water based on the quartz-crystal-microbalan
ce (QCM). Hydrophobic polymers and macrocyclic calixarenes were tested
as solid sensitive layers on QCM. Polymer materials with glass transi
tion temperatures below the operating temperature supply reversible an
d fast sensor responses, and the microporous calixarene layers are ver
y sensitive and selective towards analytes with high dispersion parame
ters. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
