A MATHEMATICAL RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE ALPHA-ALUMINA CONTENT AND IGNITION LOSS OF ALUMINA

The objective of the present study was to investigate a mathematical r elationship between the alpha-alumina content and ignition loss of alu mina from Seydisehir, Turkey. The observed ignition loss was used to g enerate the mathematical relationship Z<INF>1</INF> = e-<SUP>0.077</SU P> . F>(alpha<INF>1</INF>/alpha<INF>2</INF>)<SUP>-1.339 </SUP>where, Z (1) is the percent ignition loss, Z(2) is the mean percentage ignition loss, alpha(1) is the percent alpha-alumina, alpha(2) is the mean per centage alpha-alumina. It was found that the logarithmic coordinates g ave a Linear relationship between alpha(1)/alpha(2) and Z(1)/Z(2). (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
