Specific antibodies (Ab's) against bovine herpesvirus-1 (BHV-1) were d
etected by parallel examination of blood samples obtained from cows an
d calves, utilizing the ELISA-test and the method of micro virus neutr
alization. An adequate regression relationship between net extinction
and the values of neutralizing antibody titer was determined by statis
tical analysis of the results obtained. However, values for antibody t
iters could not be accurately predicted on the on the basis of net ext
inction. It was determined that the accuracy rate was 30% for the majo
rity of tested titers However, accuracy approched 80% for particular v
alues of neutralizing antibody titer.
