R. Tripathi et al., PHOTOREFRACTIVE JOINT TRANSFORM CORRELATOR USING INCOHERENT ERASURE IN 2-WAVE-MIXING AND 4-WAVE-MIXING GEOMETRIES IN A BATIO3 CRYSTAL, Optical engineering, 37(7), 1998, pp. 2148-2155
The outcomes of some experimental and simulation studies performed on
an incoherent-erasure photorefractive joint transform correlator (PR J
TC) in the two-wave- and four-wave-mixing geometries are demonstrated.
Computer simulation results show the effectiveness with which nonline
ar transfer characteristics can be achieved in the incoherent-erasure
configuration of the JTC. These can be exploited to attain different f
ilter operations, e.g., matched, phase-only, and inverse filters by va
rying beam ratios. Experimental limitations with PR barium titanate cr
ystal entail the incoherent erasure (IE) JTC operation with all filter
actions and encourage to this goal further investigations with fast P
R materials. (C) 1998 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Enginee
