Abstract
Numerical simulation of a series of methanol ignition experiments is u sed to demonstrate the possibility of their quantitative description u sing the ''universal'' model of [1], which involves mainly the data gi ven in reference books, monographs and original papers. This demonstra tes that, given a complete set of data required for the ''universal'' model, this model appears to qualitatively correctly describe the comb ustion of both methanol and other fuels, both for the case of gas-drop let mixtures and for the particular case of premixed gas mixtures.
