INVESTIGATION OF GAS-DYNAMIC PROCESSES IN A TUBE UNDER SUDDEN COMMUNICATION WITH THE ATMOSPHERE

The regularities of gas-dynamic processes in a tube under sudden commu nication at its one end with the atmosphere are investigated. The tube is originally closed at both ends and filled with a the medium whose pressure is higher or lower than the atmospheric one. In the former ca se, its sudden communication with the atmosphere will be accompanied b y an outflow from the tube into unbounded space, and, in the latter ca se, an inflow of air from the atmosphere into the tube will take place .
