A model of phase transformation of a polymer system to vapor is constr
ucted for heating modes with a rate exceeding 10(5) Ws. The experiment
al data obtained by the method of pulsed heating of the probe are comp
ared with the calculation results. It is demonstrated that, in the cas
e of fairly rapid heating, when the role of thermal destruction is min
or, a supercritical transition of polymer to the gas state is observed
