The results are given of numerical simulation under conditions of deve
lopment of a multicomponent, chemically reacting boundary layer of com
bustion products on a flat plate subjected to longitudinal flow. Main
attention is given to the treatment of the problem of the effect of co
oling the how in the vicinity of the surface subjected to flow on the
relaxation of distribution of carbon monoxide and on the level of its
chemical nonequilibrium in the boundary layer. The effect of factors s
uch as the how mode (laminar or turbulent) and the value of the coeffi
cient of excess of oxidizer in the initial mixture on the relaxation o
f CO is analyzed.
