K. Wagatsuma, GLOW-DISCHARGE OPTICAL-EMISSION SPECTROSCOPY - THE FUNDAMENTAL PRINCIPLES, High-temperature materials and processes, 17(1-2), 1998, pp. 97-116
Some of the fundamental principles of glow discharges: the structure o
f the discharges, cathode sputtering, and light emission, are describe
d, including the excitation and ionization phenomena occurring in the
glow discharge plasma. The glow discharge tube with a flat cathode (Gr
imm-style), which is commonly available for the emission spectrometric
analysis, is introduced together with a table of the sensitive emissi
on lines of various elements.
