Y. Grillet et al., EVALUATION OF THE N-NONANE PREADSORPTION METHOD WITH A WELL CHARACTERIZED MODEL ADSORBENT - SILICALITE-I, Pure and applied chemistry, 65(10), 1993, pp. 2157-2167
The n-nonane preadsorption technique is analysed here, using a well ch
aracterized model adsorbent: silicalite-I. Controlled Rate - Evolved G
as Analysis allows the precise quantity of n-nonane retained to be kno
wn. In this case the n-nonane totally blocks the microporous channels
of silicalite-I without allowing diffusion of the adsorbate. Quasi-equ
ilibrium microcalorimetry shows that the adsorbent nature is not modif
ied by the n-nonane and also supplies supplementary information on pre
viously noted argon and nitrogen adsorbate transitions. However, initi
al desorption of the n-nonane renders certain void regions of the micr
oporous network inaccessible to the adsorbate.
