Abstract
An algorithm for eigenstructure assignment by output feedback, that in tegrates subspace and parametric approaches to eigenstructure assignme nt is extended to the general case of multiple eigenvalues. The extend ed algorithm is less restrictive than another comparable algorithm. Th e approach taken enables a gain index for moderating the gain of the r esulting controller to be provided.
