CATALYTIC HYDROLYSIS OF SOYA OIL WITH CARBON ADSORBENTS

In order to approve the possibility for side reactions the catalytic a ctivity of carbon absorbents intended for adsorgants and hemosorbents in the process of the hydrolysis of soya bean oil under conditions sim ilar to those in the human body is investigated. It was established th at the oxidized carbons with acid reaction accelerate the hydrolysis o f the oil. Activated carbons with basic reaction have no effect on the process. The Cu2+ form of the oxidized anthracite catalyses the oxida tion as well as the hydrolysis of the soya bean oil. The hydrolitic pr ocess is controlled mainly by the chemical factors (the amount of oxyg en containing acidic groups). (C) 1998 Elsevier Science Ltd. All right s reserved.
