Abstract
A simple method is reported for making BaZrO3 crucibles. BaZrO3 crucib les are favoured for making high quality HTS single crystals. A proble m with BaZrO3 is that it is highly refractory requiring very high sint ering temperatures in order to achieve high density. The process repor ted uses widely available yttria stabilized zirconia substrates upon w hich barium containing materials are reacted.
