Abstract
We review the major features of laser diode feedback interferometry fo r sensing applications. The ensembles of the feedback effects on the o ptical field can be exploited for several non-contact measurements suc h as displacement, distance, vibration amplitude and frequency. Method s of signal processing are also discussed.
