Abstract
It has been measured the ratio between the refrigerant flow and the ca sting speed and the appropriate range of this ratio to avoid the advan ce or delay of the solidification front has been determined. By means of a variable flow of N-2 at the exit zone of the copper tubes the imp rovement of heat transmission in the mould and of the internal surface quality of the cast tubes was achieved.
