Abstract
The lattice U(1) and U(1)-Higgs models with Symanzik action are analyt ically studied at finite temperature using variational cumulant expans ion (VCE). The Polyakov lines [L] and the critical index beta are calc ulated. The results show that VCE of system with Symanzik action conve rges more rapidly than that of Wilson action.
