G. Mehta et al., COMPUTER-AIDED ORGANIC-SYNTHESIS - SESAM - A SIMPLE PROGRAM TO UNRAVEL HIDDEN RESTRUCTURED STARTING MATERIALS SKELETA IN COMPLEX TARGETS, EUROPEAN JOURNAL OF ORGANIC CHEMISTRY, (7), 1998, pp. 1409-1412
We describe the SESAM program whose aim is to help the chemist in expl
oring new synthetic strategies for complex structures by locating simp
le, non-obvious but effective starting materials. The program works at
the skeletal level and attempts to map simply modified starting mater
ials into the skeletal surface of the target. SESAM has been tested on
taxol and steroid frameworks.
